This Castle has been a landmark of cultural interest since 1931 and is just 75 minutes from Madrid, 15 minutes from Sepulveda and Pedraza and 30km from the skiing station of la Pinilla.

The estate has an area of 79Ha and a total built area of 5500m2. It is mainly used as a hotel and for events. It has 5 floors with 21 rooms (all of them with en-suite bathroom and 2 large suites); Royal living room for 300 people, several spaces, some more intimate and others larger for conventions, large terraces, an amazing inner patio, large parking area and historical library.

Fully equipped and in spotless conditions, it continues being used for events: with all the installations, including an industrial kitchen in perfect condition, huge exposed grill and large areas for the service staff.

The views from the towers are imposing, and the outer façade covered in vines and in perfect state of preservation, make it an ideal and romantic setting.

In addition to the castle, it also includes the following constructions: a charming 450m2 mill-home in carefully preserved, perfect to be used as a house for the property caretakers, large prairie with perfectly conditioned fields with activity areas and toilet; several swimming pools; another pyramid-shaped house; several warehouses (currently being used as museums) and chapel (perfect touch for religious celebrations).

Some historical data. The Gothic-Mudejar architectural style is the most noteworthy one, although Arab, Elizabethan and Neo-Classical traces can be found. The origin of the castle is not clear, some researchers think it dates back to the 8th century by Abd-al Rahman I, others, however, attribute it to Almanzor (10th century). Unfortunately, there are no remains left from such ancient times, and it is necessary to go back to the 12th and 13th centuries to date the pointed arches in the West side of the Weapons courtyard. It was inhabited by the Kings of Aragon in the 14th century. In the 15th century, Juan II gave it to his protegee, Mr. Alvaro de Luna. Afterwards, it was purchased by the Catholic Kings, who assigned it as a dowry to one of their nieces. And so it became part of the Velascos' heritage, Constables of Castile, who adapted the castle to the taste of the times. In the 19th century, it belonged to the Catholic branch of the Hohenzollern family, and in 1856, it became property of Jose Galofre, Queen Isabel II's honour painter and secretary. After that, it belonged to the Marchises of Quintanar.

A real historical jewel that wants to continue showcasing its splendour - Shall we talk?
