GREAT SOLARIEGA HOUSE WITH HISTORY.
It is documented that the original house was built by the conquistador Juan Ruiz de Arce, originally from Alburquerque and who participated with Francisco de Pizarro in the conquest of Peru. From the Indies, he returned with a great fortune and settled in his native town until his death.
The great building has 1.600 m² built distributed over 3 floors. Over the years it has undergone various reforms, until it reached its current situation. The whitewashed façade presents as decorative elements a singular eaves with geometric shapes and a magnificent window grid and on the first floor balcony. In the center of the facade you can see the family heraldic shield, carved in stone. The large access door has a sober ashlar stone frame.
Its interior houses large rooms with living rooms and outbuildings that maintain some decorative elements typical of late 19th century architecture, such as the stone columns and arches on the second floor. It has numerous rooms and bedrooms that need rehabilitation. In the back two gardens and some dependencies used as warehouses and stables are opened, in this area an old cistern from the construction time is also preserved.
Despite the necessary updating of most of the rooms, the solidity of the construction offers excellent opportunities to convert the building into a charming hotel or a cozy family home.
The property is located in the center of the historic city of Alburquerque, a traditional village in La Paz with numerous cultural attractions such as its famous Luna Castle, and surrounded by large meadows and mountains. The border with Portugal is only 20 km, Badajoz 45 km and Madrid is 380 km. Away.
